What is considered an emergency?
A veterinary emergency refers to any unforeseen medical issue that causes pain, discomfort, or immediate threat to your pet’s life. The following health situations are considered emergencies:
- Severe diarrhea or vomiting
- Excessive bleeding
- Swallowing toxic or foreign objects
- Breathing problems
- Traumatic injury such as getting hit by a car
- Losing the ability to walk
- Seizures
- Allergic reactions
If your pet has any of the health risks above, we encourage you to call us at 403-249-3411. By calling us, our team can prepare for your arrival so we can attend to your pet as soon as possible. This also allows our team to provide instructions on how to care for your pet while en route to the clinic.
