What happens during euthanasia?

Euthanasia is a quick procedure that takes only minutes to complete. Because it goes by really fast we give pet owners time to say goodbye to their pet prior to starting the procedure. Euthanasia begins with administering a sedative, then an injection is given intravenously that stops your pet’s heart, lungs, and other vital organs.

How do I know when to consider euthanasia for my pet?

Veterinarians generally recommend euthanasia when patients have a chronic condition and all treatments have been unsuccessful. From a medical standpoint, our team knows there are no other options available for your pet. As your pet’s guardian, you know them best and you can sense when their health is getting worse. You’ll notice your pet is depressed or withdrawn, doesn’t eat as much, hides more, and is less affectionate. These are all signs that your pet’s quality of life is low, which means they are nearing the end of their natural life.
